The Weekend Hangout @TW

Chanyi thought it was just going to be an ordinary weekend hangout.

She, Hudson, ธนภูมิ, and Saki met up in Taipei. They started at a coffee shop, then kept going through bubble tea, cake, grilled sandwiches, fried chicken, and finally a late-night bowl of ramen.

At first, Chanyi paid for everyone's coffee. Later, ธนภูมิ covered the fried chicken, Hudson paid for beer, and Saki bought cake for everyone. Each person covered a little something for the group, but nobody wanted to keep pulling out a calculator in the middle of the meal.

In the past, this kind of hangout usually ended with someone saying, 'Let's figure it out when we get home.' But after everyone got home, receipts disappeared, photos got buried, and the group chat was left with only hazy memories: didn't someone pay for fried chicken? Didn't Hudson have one extra beer?

This time, Chanyi opened a logoDecents ledger right away. Whenever someone paid upfront, they logged the item, amount, payer, and split members. Nobody had to rely on memory for who paid for what, and nobody had to ask again at the end who joined which expense.

A little after 10 PM, Saki suggested ramen as a late-night snack. Hudson laughed and said, 'I'll pay this time, but remember I already had one extra beer earlier.'

Before heading home, the four of them opened the ledger. Coffee, bubble tea, fried chicken, cake, beer, and ramen were all clearly listed. A whole day's worth of mixed-up spending had been organized into one clean ledger.

In the end, everyone just settled up according to logoDecents. No one needed to dig through receipts, and no one had to awkwardly ask in the group chat, 'So how much do I owe, and to whom?'
