Welcome to Decents! Let's start spending time on the things that truly matter.

Everyone has their own way of using Decents. Here's a quick way to get started: ⬇ In your ledger, click the members panel to add your friends and family.

If they already have an account, you can also enter their ID so they can see this ledger in their own overview. Or click the share button to send them the ledger link so they can join directly:

Make sure to turn on 'Allow Joining' — otherwise, others won't be able to join the ledger!

Then you can: 1. Update the ledger name — so everyone knows what this ledger is about. 2. Set a date range — to record the event period and make it easier to sort in your ledger overview.

Next, add items and start recording shared expenses! Item editing is one of Decents' core features — whether splitting by weight or by amount (default is evenly split), it's quick and easy.

A single ledger can include multiple currencies. Each item can have its own exchange rate, making it convenient even when everyone exchanges money differently. If you can't find a desired currency in the system, you can contact us via info in the sidebar.

Additionally, under default permissions, any member with an account in this ledger can also edit items together.

When all items have been recorded and you're ready to settle up, click 'Lock Ledger':

At this point, items can no longer be edited. The ledger enters settlement mode — everyone can now refer to the 'Payment Suggestions' section to clear debts and record who has settled.

Once everyone has settled, the ledger owner can click the 'Settle' button — and the ledger will be marked as 'Settled'!
