2026 July - New Redesign
Excited to share new features and milestones with all Decents users.

Latest Updates and Milestones
Over the past few years, Decents has remained focused on product development. Even without the capacity to invest much in marketing, the user base has continued to grow slowly and steadily. Starting this year, we have noticed that in addition to our largest group of users in Taiwan, users from Hong Kong and Australia have also been steadily increasing. Thank you very much to users around the world for your support.
Since the beginning of this year, both user numbers and usage have reached new milestones. Whether in terms of number of users, number of ledgers, visits, and other metrics, everything has grown by more than an order of magnitude. In response to this gradual growth trend, Decents has not only continued to think about smoother user flows and a more user-friendly UI, but also completed an infrastructure upgrade in advance around April. System stability through multiple nodes, data security through full CloudSQL integration, and response time through caching have all improved significantly.
As expected, in addition to the original costs, cloud expenses and maintenance costs have also increased. Since April 2026, these costs have reached three digits in USD per month.
Because of this, Decents must seek a sustainable revenue model on top of its current foundation. At the same time, we need to provide more value to users, so we can persuade more users to join and help create a positive cycle.
The current plan is a subscription model combined with the operation of “Divon,” which will be explained in detail below. We can guarantee that existing features will remain free. There will be no situation where originally free features suddenly become paid features.
I. Subscription and Divon
Subscription Overview
Decents has only one subscription plan: Premium.
In other words, users are either on the Free plan or the Premium plan. There are no other complicated tiers. The Premium plan gives users access to more advanced features. If you often organize group trips or are a heavy user, these advanced features are designed for you. As guaranteed above, the Free plan will continue to preserve all existing features, so lightweight users will not be affected. The detailed feature comparison will be based on the subscription page.
Considering the current payment situation, subscription payments are divided into two options: “Taiwan” and “International.” If you do not have a Taiwanese credit card, please use Stripe for international payments. If you do have a Taiwanese credit card, you can choose the Taiwan payment flow, which comes with a discounted subscription price. Of course, the amount of Divon included will also be reduced accordingly. More details are explained below.
What Is Divon?
If the subscription plan determines whether an advanced feature can be used through feature gating, then usage-based features are handled through Divon.
For usage-based features, take the recently added image upload feature as an example. If users are willing to consume more Divon, they can unlock a larger upload quota. In the future, if AI image recognition is integrated, the related quota will also be made available based on Divon.
On the other hand, since last year, we have repeatedly received user feedback asking whether we could add a bank account feature so that settlement could be more convenient. However, there has never been a good solution for this. If bank account information is placed directly in the ledger description, it may be leaked because of user error or accidental permission settings that make it visible to everyone. But if Decents designs a specialized disclosure mode, the information may still accidentally be exposed to other members of the same ledger during the settlement process. In that case, Decents may end up bearing part of the responsibility.
In addition, fraud has become increasingly rampant in recent years, which makes displaying bank account information an increasingly risky action. Because of this, we have not been able to provide a complete design solution.
What Decents can do is allow users to follow the transfer suggestions in a ledger, while also providing the option of settling with Divon. This can improve settlement efficiency between friends and family without exposing bank account information.
Of course, we have also consulted professionals. The original purpose of this feature is usage-based consumption inside the system. If it is used as a settlement aid between users, there may be risks. Therefore, in the design, Divon is provided only as a bonus quota included with subscriptions. Top-ups are prohibited. Divon can only be used inside Decents and cannot be converted into fiat currency. If future usage involves legal or regulatory risks, or goes against the original design intent, we will make a separate announcement and disable the settlement function.

II. New Features
To support the new subscription model and the more complete Divon system, this release officially introduces several new features. You can view the details of these features in Learn More. In addition, many other features are currently being designed and will be released gradually in future updates. However, they will not be added to this article.
1. Split ledgers can be settled with Divon
When a split ledger is in the “locked / waiting for settlement” state, users can go to “payment suggestions” and click the Divon settlement function to initiate a Divon transfer request.
The current flow is:
- If the payer has enough Divon, they can click the button to initiate a transfer of the corresponding amount of Divon to the payee.
- The payee will see the settlement request in the same ledger and can decide whether to accept the Divon. If they reject it, that is also fine. They can still settle through their own bank transfer as before.
2. Recurring ledgers (Premium)
Recurring ledgers can now be configured.
When a schedule is set for a specific ledger, Decents will automatically copy the same ledger into the list when the scheduled time arrives.
If users mainly need to handle household expenses or shared expenses with roommates, this feature is suitable for automatically generating ledgers at specified times. The generated ledger will inherit the existing items and members, while the settlement status will be reset and become open for editing again.
3. Ledger Trash (Premium)
You can now delete ledgers with more confidence.
Deleted ledgers will stay in Trash for 14 days. If you want to restore or permanently delete them, you can handle that from Trash.
4. Batch item drafts
A new batch draft tool has been added to the batch item tool. This allows users to generate multiple “draft items” at once. You can first record the amount and name without immediately filling in the paying member and sharing members.
5. Item Inbox
This is the most unique new feature in this release: users can declare a token and allow “external services” to write draft items into their own inbox.
So if an external service wants to integrate with Decents, or if you want to add items through mobile shortcuts, or if you are building something yourself and want it to write into your own inbox, you can now receive those items here.
Free users can use 1 token. Premium users can generate up to 10 tokens.
6. Extended services: Account, Decents Slots, and Decents Calculator
If you paid attention when logging in, you may have noticed that in the past few versions, login had already been quietly moved under Decents Account. Now personal information and Divon history are managed together in the account area.
Next is Decents Calculator, which has gradually added some small tools for daily life. If you have other small calculation needs suitable for groups, feel free to contact the official Instagram.
Finally, Decents Slots is designed specifically for handling registration and attendance management needs. It is still in beta testing, and the features and workflows will continue to be adjusted. Please stay tuned.
You can find these features in the footer and sidebar.
Part III. Plans for the Second Half of the Year
Development Plans
In the first half of 2026, we stabilized the infrastructure and reorganized all technical aspects. After the system upgrade, we have now introduced the subscription mechanism as well. The foundation for faster development is now ready. The release pace for new features should become faster from here onward, unlike before when many things required more effort.
At minimum, the following features will be added. Some are only just being designed, while others are already waiting for testing and should be released soon:
- Split ledgers will support adding images, allowing users to keep receipt images for reference.
- Based on image support, we will try to make the process of converting receipt photos into items as simple as possible. However, if expensive computation is involved, such as AI, it may still require Divon consumption.
- Split ledgers are still missing several features. For example, “amount-only records”: imagine that before a group trip, the organizer collects an advance payment from everyone. Right now, this kind of payment can only be recorded in the ledger through a somewhat awkward workaround. This will be added as soon as possible. Another feature that many users have requested is statistics, which also needs to be added as soon as possible.
- Improve the advanced features of Decents Slots and the homepage design.
- Keyword search: after entering a keyword, users will be able to search for items and their corresponding ledgers.
- Allow users to update their user ID, so they will no longer be bound to the current Google prefix.
- Add more login methods. Currently, only Google login is supported. Although we rarely receive complaints about this, adding multiple login methods will still be more convenient for users.
- Decents Calculator: we will design it so that calculation results can be shared and collaboratively edited, just like split ledgers.
- More new group accounting services. We will not go into the details here yet. 😁
Promotion Plans
In the second half of the year, we expect to increase our marketing efforts as well. We will also strengthen promotion in Australia. The main channels will be Instagram and Threads for content exposure. We will also prepare more materials and features so users have more interesting content to share, such as statistical charts.
In addition to increasing the number of users, we also hope more people will start using Divon. This can save time while also providing some support for the continued development of Decents.
Closing
It has been nearly three years since the first line of code was written. Thank you for your support and participation. We will continue developing more convenient features as much as possible, so everyone can focus on the gatherings themselves.
